Clone Windows Home Server 2011

Thread needs solution

I Have a Windows Home Server 2011 and want to back up or Clone the C: drive. I installed ATIH 2012 on it and tried to back it up. My main disk is a Dynamic Disk so it said that it needed the Plus Pack to do it. I have the Plus Pack for 2012 also so I tried to install it and it opened to the install screen and then just closed the screen without a message. On the second attempt the initial Install screen did not even open. I tried this several times, but could not get it to load.

Ultimatly I want to make a mirror for the C: drive, but the 100 mb windows 7 partition won't mirror, so the mirror is un-bootable. I have tried to convert the disk from dynamic to basic so that ATIH can clone it. Iwill loose all my data so I don't want to do that. I tried to install the Plus Pack but it won't install.

Any Suggestions?

Hello Fred,

Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding this question.

Unfortunately without the investigation we cannot say for sure what's wrong, but before we proceed with localizing the problem, I'd like to offer you a workaround.

You can avoid installation of Acronis Universal Restore, and get it already on the bootable media. Please download the *.iso from your account, burn it onto the CD, and perform a cloning operation from the CD.

I would also appreciate if you could keep us posted, and let us know the results.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you.

OK I have downloaded the ISO and will try to use it at the earliest convenience.

What can I do to investigate as you suggested?

I will post the results to this thread when I get the ISO made and tested.

Hello Fred,

In order to investigate the issue we'll need development assistance, so I would recommend you to contact our support directly with the issue description. The situation might require a remote session.

Please update us on the results of cloning from bootable media.
