Disk Cloning

Thread needs solution

I use ASUS X53SC i52430 and this came with dos only. I have installed Win7 ultimate, office applications and Visual studio and other applications. The systemcame with WD 750GB and 4GM RAM. I presently use disk image of parttions of Sys partition created by Win and C Drive. I have been using Seagate Disk Wizard, a product owned by Acronis, used with Seagate disk only. Since the system did not come with seagate disk but WD, I opted for Acronis True Home 2012. In Disk Wizard, I could clone system disk to external seagate disk with USB and protected my work. I tried the same with ACTH2012 with a seagate USB disk 750GB. It recognised the disk and when it started to clone the disk to external, it repartitioned the external USB seagate disk and indicated it could not write in certain sectors. This I never faced with disk wizard. With disk image of sys partition and Cdrive, I found no difficulty. I tried using the bootable media, as in disk wizard and faced the same problem. Why is this problem? Any solutions please.

If you have chosen the cloning function, you have probably a screwed up backup disk at this point. If this is OK with you, you should reformat your backup disk.
Then use Acronis 2012 to do a disk backup of your system disk. Include all partitions in the backup. For this, switch to disk mode (upper right blue link) until you see disks and not partitions to select. Select the disk.
Since the entire 750GB disk will be backed up, you migth want to exclude specific folders to make your backup more manageable. Use the "add exclusions" option to do that.
