Acronis Backup Server - FTP backup always fails

Thread needs solution

Hi, we are internally using our Acronis NFR licences and I have come across a problem I can't seem to solve. I am using Acronis Backup Server on Windows Server 2012 R2, backing up whole disk and also a specific folder. It runs fine. However, whenever I use FTP server as a backup target or 2nd backup location (I have it added in my vaults), the backup fails, log follows:

I have no idea why this happens. The FTP server (Synology Rackstation NAS) is accessible, the Acronis Vault management sees the FTP server and its folders/files, I have also tried to disable firewall. Create new FTP user. Create new FTP share. Nothing helps.

Does anybody have any idea?

THANKS!

Hello,

There was a known issue with DSM 5.1, which incorrectly implements the FTP protocol.

I would suggest updating to 5.2 to resolve this.

Thank you.

Thank you for the info, to make it work I have rather went the VPN way, now I am not communicating via FTP but via SMB. It works.
