Backup vs TI archive compatability

Thread needs solution

DAK if backups taken using Backup can be mounted by TI and vice versa, and if the Linux and/or WinPE-built restore systems from each product are compatible?
Finally (and this is really one for Acronis) any ideas what versions of each product are compatible in this way (e.g. is an 11.5 archive compatible with a TI 2014 one?

I can give you partial answer. It is possible for TI 2014 to mount AB 11.5 images and visa versa. See my results:

1. TI 2014 will mount an AB 11.5 image from the TI 2014 GUI in Windows.

2. TI 2014 from the GUI in Windows offers to add an AB 11.5 backup to the list for recovery. I didn't try it.

3. AB 11.5 from the GUI in Windows does not recognize TI 2014 backups either for recovery or mounting.

4. AB 11.5 will mount a TI 2014 backup using the Acronis Command Line Tool. (One point of interest was that an xml file for each TI 2014 backup in the folder with the mounted backup was created.)

5. I didn't try using the Command Line Tool in AB 11.5 to recover a TI 2014 backup.

PS
After the Command Line Tool mounting created the xml files mentioned in 4 above, AB 11.5 was able to mount the TI 2014 images from the GUI in Windows. Also AB 11.5 now recognizes the TI 2014 backup for recovery. Again, I didn't try it.

Officially backup of different families (home/corporate) are not compatible - http://kb.acronis.com/content/1689 - home family products can read backup of older home products, so do corporate ones.
Different 'environments' (live OS/linux-based media/WinPE media) of the same product produce compatible archives.
