Converting/attaching existing personal vaults to/as managed centralised vault.

Thread needs solution

We currently have Acronis Backup Advanced (AD backup, SQL Add-on) 11.5 license. We use it on a standalone server with personal vaults only.

I am looking at installing AMS and Sotrage Node on a second server to create centrally managed vaults with deduplication as a requirement for automated regular offsite backups has emerged. I am planning to perform the offsite backups onto a CIFS share at the remote site via a site-to-site VPN connection. In order to reduce the size of the the traffic and subsequently the time required for the backup over the network, I want to utilise the deduplication feature of the product.

I have an extensive set of backups in personal vaults which I do not wish to give up on when changing the current backup configuration. Also, I do not want to purchase further storage if possible, so I would like to keep my current backups and either convert them to or attached them as managed central vaults. Though, I have read that the latter one is not possible.

So my question is that how I can create managed central vaults and move my current backups into them? Is it possible to export archives/backups from a personal vault and import them into a previously created managed central vault?

Thank you for the help.

Hello Neil,

Welcome to Acronis forums! I would recommend to create a new managed vault and export backups to the new location.

Thank you,
