Hello all,

I am in the midst of upgrading to 11.5 Advanced Server for Windows Backup and Universal Restore. We only have 1 license, but my main question is:

Does this have to be installed on the machine I want to backup?

I'm using this for our file server, and I intend on implementing a new file server, but I was curious if I do this, if I can just install this on a different server just for this backup software to run? I understand it's license based, and we only have 1, but I only want to backup one machine.

I didn't understand your intended configuration. You have a fileserver A and a machine B where The Software will be installed? ok. But you won't be able to make snapshotted disk backups of A, only file backup of what it can access over shared folders.
