Issues with Access Centralized Management Vaults

Thread needs solution

Software Version: ABR11A_17318_en-US (Come with our company part number order, which has been tested with our company for product compatablity, so I have to use this version)
My Management Server and Storage Node are on the same server machine name Server_A (Windows Server 2008 R2), and this server happens to be the primary Domain controller for Domain_1.

A domain account Domain_1\ABC has been created as Domain Admin for the Domain_1, which should be in the administrator group for all machines in the Domain_1. Management Server related software are all installed on the Server_A by using the existing account Domain_1\ABC and verified the related service does use this domain account in the Services management window for the server.

I login to the management server (AMS) using the domain account Domain_1\ABC and create a centalized management vault XXX. A little bit supprised, I was challenged with the credentials, and I provided the same credential Domain_1\ABC and successfully created the vault. Is that normal?

What is more strange, when i try to create a backup plan and select this vault XXX in the "Where to backup", I was challenged for the credential again. If I provide Domain_1\ABC and password, it just tried and tried and never ended. And i could not stop the Storage Node service. So i have to restart the machine. But it keeps doing like that. My first concern is that, it should use Domain_1\ABC to access the vault by default, correct? Is it a way to find out what credential it tries to use by default? But anyway, I could not get it work. I did not record to have such a problem when i do some testing back in the office. Any thoughts?

I am working on the client site and need to finish it in another day or two, so your help is much appreciated!

Hello Keith Li,

Thank you for posting this question in our forum. I am happy to assist you.

When using Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 in a multi-domain environment, you need to have a trust relationship between both domains. Otherwise it is recommend setting up separate environments in each domain.

Also it is a good idea to define all machines via IP address. You should provide always the domain admin credentials, from that domain, where your management environment is installed.

The provided credentials should always be written in the format domain\administrator to ensure, that the credentials could be identified correctly.
