No Tray monitor when launch backup since command line

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have a problem, for some security reason, i would like to deploy only acronis agent, acronis command line tool, and acronis Tray monitor icon on client desktops, no console is deployed.

When i start a backup job by command line with for example "acrocmd backup disk ...." or " acrocmd consolidate backup..."

job start and finish with success, but the tray monitor icon doesn't appears during the backup.

if i start the same job since the acronis GUI console, the icon appears.

Can you help me ?

I discussed by chat with Acronis Support, but for this moment they are no idea, they should be contact me next week for news.

Thanks

Best regards

Daniel

Hello Daniel Pizzolante,

Thank you for posting this question in our forum. I am happy to assist you.

The Acronis Tray Icon does not display the activity of the commandline utility. The reason is the usage of the Acronis Schedule Manager. With using the GUI, the backup plan is stored in the GUI and the scheduling is done with the Acronis Schedule Manager.

When using the commandline utility, the backup is created with a commandline and if you want to schedule it, you have to use the Windows scheduler. As a result, the Tray Icon does not show this action.

There is no way around this. A possible workaround is to deploy backup plans via centralized management, where you also do not need a local management console. Or you can deploy the backup plan as xml file to the client machines. See this page in our user guide about the setup.

If you need additional assistance, please create a system report of the affected machine and contact support. You will find all available support options in our Customer handbook.

If there is anything else we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.
