Several issues
Hi people.
I have been having issues with Acronis B&R 11.5 since I first installed it many months ago. We got it going, but we have found that it is backing up at the pedestrian rate of the order of 2.5MB/s to say 10MB/s, which means pretty slow. As well, it continually has issues, such as not being able to backup the main file server. I finally got so frustrated that I have downloaded a trial version of BE and find that, amazingly, all the issues have disappeared and BE backs up the same data, no issues and at 4400MB/min. Any ideas? Same tape drive, same system, different backup software. I have been in contact with Acronis support numerous times and nothing has been resolved to my satisfaction. For example, they resolve an issue and yet another crops up. One major issue is the fact that we can't do a unified backup with B&R, by which I mean, select SQL Server, Exchange Server, File Server and Virtual Servers in one continuous backup, and one job and have it backup to a single tape. The sales rep at Acronis knew what I wanted, and assured me that it would do this, but, no, it can't. This has caused numerous problems as well. Anybody else have these types of issues? This software has caused more issues that I have ever had with any single software installation in a career spanning over 20 years. Do you think I'm annoyed? Probably.
