Taking Differential backup offsite

Thread needs solution

I do a differential backup each night to an Iscsi drive at the other end of the building.

I also need to take a copy to a usb drive to take offsite.

The problem is the volume of data is 2.4TB and the time it takes to create the copy to USB3 4TB disc by replication.

Is it possible to manually copy the initial full backup and then just the latest differential? Are there other files that I would need to copy?

Many thanks,

Tom Horsley

I assume that you don't use storage node in your setup, then it's possible. It would be better to copy the .xml file too (it's changed after each backup) but you can restore from .tib files alone, in this case .xml is recreated.

The best way to do it is by using 2 policy, one for Iscasi and the other for USB and make is automatic during the night.
In the morning, just take the usb drive and insert a new one.

Try the new sanDisk usb drive with the "cloud" option, it will sycronize the backup to sandisk cloud.
