Use actual windows login as credential on NAS

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

I'm getting crazy to set up our backup structure in our small company.
Situation:
- Active directory on Windows server with domain logons for each user.
- FreeNAS with Samba shares / subfolder for each domain user. Integrated with AD.
- Acronis backup 11.5 on each Windows client.

The problem now is: If I want to create a vault I get asked for credentials.
I could of course enter them, but every 3 month password change is mandatory, so there's no point in saving a password.
I also tried setting the user's account as Acronis service, no change.

So I thought to automatically map a drive with ex. T:\ on each client machine pointing to the relative folder / share on the NAS.
But it looks like Acronis can't access them: https://kb.acronis.com/content/43831

Any ideas on how to solve this?

I tried with revision: 38774 and 39029.

Best regards
David

Hello David,

Could you clarify the exact scenario? What prevents you from using an administrator account (or local NAS account) that has access to all the shares/subfolders?

Thank you.

I don't want others to have the possibility to accidentally delete other's backups.
Maybe domain passwords will not be changed every x month anymore, so problem solved for now.

Still, is there no way (in future versions) to have Acronis use the current login credentials?
