Acronis Stalls at 12%

Thread needs solution

Good Morning All,

I have been working with Acronis to try and backup a folder to tape.

I am trying to do an incremental backup, to make it quicker and easier to backup.

After setting the task up, which, will grab files from a shared network folder and back them up to the tape. I ran it and it worked with no issues, although it was very slow and took about 1 week to backup 800GB.

I scheduled the task to run by itself now, and it stalls at 12% every time.
I have lookd through the logs and could not seem to see anything that stuck out to me.

The Log file is attached.

If anyone could please help me, Thank You

I have the same problem.

I am using Acronis Backup Advanced 11.5.39029 on a new PC (Intel i5-4690 / 3.5 GHz / 16 GB RAM) with Win7pro 64bit.
An updates to the newest version failed so far.

The backup job starts at 8 p.m. and last about 22 hours for a few GBytes!
Most of the time there is no progress. The process shows 12% (running) for many hours.

What is going on? What holds the program so long instead of continuing?
The log file doesn't help.

22 hours later the log files shows some strange values:
writing events: 158900
total writing time: 85 seconds
total data writen: 20.8 GB
total write interval: 77724 seconds
writing speed: 243091738 byte/second

Any idea what's going wrong?

Attached is a screenshot of the 12% process (german version) and the statistics (german version).

Hi all,

Systems Department, in the logfile we see numerous errors "Failed to create snapshot for backup". I suppose, that the issue is related to the snapshot creation and not to the backup on tape. But in order to localize the issue, I would suggest testing the backup to the internal drive. If the issue persists - please proceed the following way to troubleshoot the issue with the snapshots

Andreas, please check the log file, if there are also errors or warnings, related to the snapshot creation and follow the same recommendations.

Please also make sure, that you are using the latest build of the software (currently 43956) and the tape drivers are up to date. If the issue persists, copy some large files to the tape manually and compare the speed rates with that of Acronis. Check if the following article is applicable (sometimes the poor writing speed on tapes is caused by the different block sizes).

Tahnk you,

The log file didn't help.

** The problems with ACRONIS BACKUP have increased. **

1. It is installed on a new and fast computer but the performance is unbelievable SLOW.
2. A simple backup of some data takes about 23 hours!
3. The log file shows only a few information, bad statistics and error messages with no helpful data.

and now...

4. Changes to the backup list isn't possible anymore because the calculation of the new backup size doesn't come to an end.

** As the program is unable to do the work it was intended for, we are going to look for another solution. **

ACRONIS BACKUP has failed.
