Back up plans can't connect to NAS located in local work network

Thread needs solution

I've listed a few back up plans in wich several folders/files have been selected in two different wan computers (one desktp & one laptop) to be backed up at different folders into one of a two disk external NAS (connected by LAN). Fist plans worked fine but after a few days Acronis just can't connect to WHAT TO BACK UP and WHERE TO BACK UP just idls if you try to open it. Eventually backup plans just won't finish and an error messages appears in the main backup plan list "status" column.

Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Ernesto

Hello Ernesto,

Thank you for your posting! Could you please specify the network location using IP, did this help? I would also suggest to install the latest product version, if not installed yet. Is the network share always accessible from Windows?

Thank you,

Good day!

Thanks for the suggestions and info. I've applied the patch ( 4 files) as part to update the product. Now Acronis is able to acces all network drives, and they were alwyas accessible within window's network files & folders (shared).  I will try to run scheduled network backups at the end of today to see if all are performed without erros.

Forgot to mention Acronis wouldn't backup BLOCKED FILES located in network drives/pc's, thus pausing the backing up progress and ending with up with errors.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hello Ernesto,

Thank you for your cooperation! Please be aware that network shares are always backed up as files/folders. File-level backup means that snapshot is not created and files in use will not be backed up, so this is correct behaviour. If you are sure that files are not locked by the other process please also check if the file has mark "this file came from the other computer". In this case it will be locked too. To workaround the issue you can disable snapshot on the file level.

Thank you,
