Cannot open .TIB files - Archive Open Error
For the longest time I have created a backup image of a PC and copied the image from and external hard drive to a shared folder on a server. If I wanted to browse the contents of the image I would double-click the TIB file and it would lead me to the drive letters and the folders on the C drive.
Alas I can no longer do that. Something changed the past couple days and I have no idea what. I think it may be a setting used during the BU process but it is run from a CD and there have been no changes made, all I do is select the drives to BU and select where to BU to.
I am using Acronis Backup & Recovery 10, have also tried 11 and no difference. I tried updating the software on the PC to view these files, I have Acronis Backup 11.5 Management Console, was build 11.5.35xxx, now is 11.5.43916. I don't know what part this software serves in this process but I know it allows me to open the TIB files as I cannot open them on the server, it does not recognize the file type.
The error I am getting is attached, I am not trying to mount the image or perform any other function except to explore, I have never used the Acronis desktop software to access these files.
Any ideas?

Hi Gordon,
Thank you for your posting!
First of all could you please validate your backup. If the validation shows, that the backup is corrupted then most probably it is really corrupted. Try to create a backup to some internal drive and validate.
If validation succeeds, but you still cannot browse the archive, please follow the steps in the respective article. You've also asked, which component is responsible for mount/explore function. It's Acronis TIB Monitor, which is installed along with the Acronis Management Console.
Thank you!

Thanks for the reply, I concluded that the images were corrupted but still could not determine why. I moved on from those two PC's and tried a different model and had success. I did not make any changes to the configuration during the backup, using all the defaults. I may be able to still use the corrupted files to restore the image but only time will tell.
Thanks for your reply.
