How to copy only the most recent Backups to Tape?
Hello,
we are using Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 for a two stage backup of 4 virtual machines in Hyper-V: first to internal disks, and then to tape.
Both are in one single daily running job, with the disks as first and the tape as second target.
The disk backup is configured to keep as many backups as possible, and to delete the oldest if there is not enough free space. This works fine so far.
On the tape we only want to have the just in this actual running job created backups of the 4 VMs.
But sadly the programm tries to backup ALL backups from any date which it finds on the hard disk backup.
So the tape backup failes because of to less time and space.
We are changing tapes daily, so there is no need to have anything else on the tape than the most recent backup from today.
I think this a verry common (if not the most common) way to do a two stage backup, but i can't find an option to do it this way.
Has anyone a solution to this?
I do not want to create two seperate jobs for disk and tape backup, because this will lead to timing issues.
And even more important: the tape backup should pull its data from the just created hard disk backup, and not a second time from the productive Servers, because it will still run when the working day begins. (Acronis and the disks and tape drive are in seperate Server, on the productive server is just the agent.)
