How to install cerntal management for Linux Xen hosts?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

My objective is make system backups from RHEL 5.x Linux hosts with Xen virtualization, and from the guests too. I already have 6 pcs of "Acronis Backup Advanced Universal License (v11.5) incl. AAS". It will be later RHEL 6 or 7 with KVM, therefore are the universal licenses.
At first I need backup of 3 host systems and their guests. I designated one of them for central management purpose. I installed the console and the agent on this host. Other two have just the agent. Perhaps I am going on wrong way. It does not seems like the Management Server. I searched in the documentation, and as I understand, I must have a Windows server for the centralized management.
But I do not want to backup any Windows server. If it is true, then how is it going with the licenses?
Or is there a way to realize the central management on a Linux server?

Thanks for advice,
Tamas

Hi Tamas,

here you can see the list of OS supported by components for centralized management:

Supported operating systems

All components for centralized management don't require any additional license.

Thank you,
