How to merge incremental backups ?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

We've several full servers backups files generated from Acronis Backup 11.7.

We want to modify their content (at least some files added) directly in full backup file.

So, we mounted disks of one of this full backup file in Acronis Backup main window and add some files from Windows Explorer.

From Acronis Backup, we unmount these drives.

This files modification create a new .TIB file so my understanding is that a differential backup has been created.

Do you know how to merge/concatenate these 2 backups in a single and full backup file?

Any help would be appreciated! :)

Regards.

François

Hello François,

welcome to Acronis forums!

There is consolidation method but it will require free space and creation time both equal to creating a new full backup.

Otherwise, you can export this new incremental backup to another location which will also result in the merged full backup. This method also requires additional space and time.

Why don't you simply run a new full backup?

Hi Maria,

Thanks for your feedback.

We do not have access anymore to these physical servers and we want to do some updates directly in backup files without incremental backup.

I'll check your solutions and go back to you if needed!

Regards,

François
