Linux Guest - Fail to Backup

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm using Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5. I have installed the Linux components on RHEL 6 / 7 guests and am trying to use Acronis to backup the guests to a Samba share. It ends up with the following error at the start of the backup process.

On the guest side, from syslog, I find the following:
Dec 17 17:51:59 test-rhel7 kernel: Status code returned 0xc0000225 NT_STATUS_NOT_FOUND
Dec 17 17:51:59 test-rhel7 kernel: Status code returned 0xc0000034 NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND

If I make a windows share on the machine running the Acronis software and backup the guests to there, I do not encounter any problem.

I have no problem with backing up a windows guest to the samba / windows share.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Adrian,

This issue will require additional investigation with our support team. Prior to contacting support please collect the following information:

1) Clarify what is the type of the samba share which cannot be accessed? Where is it hosted? Is it some kind of NAS device?
2) Reproduce the issue and collect Linux system report (https://kb.acronis.com/content/1508) from the machine where backup agent is installed (from RHEL guest)

P.S. If possible, try to disable OpLocks on the samba server - it may help to resolve the original issue:

I'm using the trial version and I am not able to contact support about this. It says I have 0 registered product even though I use my trial key to register.

I have to make sure the product works before I go ahead and purchase it.
