Pause between Start and first Action

Thread needs solution

Hi there

I've got a really strange problem. One backup job has a pause between the start of the job and the first "action".
To show what I mean, here the first 2 log entries: (The log entries are in german, because it is a german installation.)

11.08.2018 21:00:02 Befehl 'BACKUPJOB_NAME' wird ausgeführt' wird ausgeführt.
12.08.2018 13:54:12 Befehl 'Backup' wird ausgeführt.

The actual backup is running normaly after that and only takes 1 hour. But because of that pause the job takes about 17-18 hours.

The Enviroment:

Acronis Backup 11.7 is running on a Windows Server 2012 R2 which has Hyper-V running with 6 VMs.
I've got 3 Backup Jobs. 1 for backing up the VMs, 1 for backing up some shared-drives on a NAS and the one with the problem for backing up the host itself. (Runs weekly and creates a single fullbackup.)

Thanks & Regards,
MS

Hello Melvin,

thank you for your posting! So, am I right that the issue affects only the backup of the physical host? If yes, might be something related to this machine. Usually such delays are caused by the long time to create a system snapshot because of VSS issues. Test a backup with the disabled VSS (in Backup options select Do not use VSS). If the issue is not reproduced in this case, proceed with Acronis Backup: VSS Troubleshooting Guide.

Another idea would be to check if the target location for storing backups is available at the time the job is scheduled to start.

And the general recommendation is to update all components to the latest build, if not done yet.

To isolate the issue try backing up the host under a bootable media\ to another location\at a different time\with a new fresh backup plan. Without the deeper investigation it would be difficult to point to the root cause, I'd recommend raising a support ticket for this issue, if possible.
