Product will not accept my license key

Thread needs solution

I uninstalled Acronis Backup from my computer, and installed it on my new machine, but when I enter the license key it says:
New licenses have been added: 0

And I cannot continue.
It's possible I never correctly uninstalled it on a machine I had that crashed a couple years ago?
Is there a way to cancle all outstanding machines this key is associated with?

I bought the product, got a license, and now I'm unable to use it.

Please help.

Hello,

What is the OS type on the affected machine? Where do you enter the license key? Have you tried adding it from the Agent's side? See the following article for more details.

My computer1 is a Windows 10 machine. I can install either the trial license or the paid license using your instructions above (thank you.)

My second computer (computer2) is a Windoes Server 2012. I can install the trial license, but when I try to install my paid license, I get this error

Note: That before trying to install my paid license on computer2, I first installed the trial license on computer1.

I just want to enable my license on my server temporarially, backup-it-up, then shutdown/delete that server, and reactivate Acrtonis on my other computer.

Thank you for providing details! Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 for PC can be activated on the machines with the Workstation OS only

  • Windows XP Professional SP2+ (x86, x64)
  • Windows Vista – all editions except for Vista Home Basic and Vista Home Premium (x86, x64)
  • Windows 7 – all editions except for the Starter and Home editions (x86, x64)
  • Windows 8/8.1 – all editions except for the Windows RT editions (x86, x64)
  • Windows 10 – Home, Pro, Education, and Enterprise editions

that's why activation fails on Win Server 2012. If you do not plan to create regular backups of this server machine, you can boot it with Acronis Bootable Media (do not create it from the product when in trial mode - > BM will be also created with the limited trial functionality that doesn't allow backing up, only restore. If you do not have licensed installationes available, you can download an .ISO from your account where full licenses are registered. This BM will contain full feature set as well), create backup and restore it on a different machine. For installation under Windows Server\Linux OS you'll need a license, that supports Server operating systems like Acronis Backup Advanced for Windows Server.
