Rebooting the server stops the backup for 3 days

Thread needs solution

Just now got a grip on this. I have two customers who's backups start failing Monday nights and fail for about 3 days after with "Error occurred while creating the file". It is 11.7 Server Standard. Fully patched. Backing up to external USB hard drives every night at 11pm.

Here is what I believe the problem is: On Sunday night I automatically reboot the servers at 4am. It is rebooted with a MSP program. Something with Acronis doesn't recover from that reboot for two or three days. Finally around the forth day it recovers and starts backing up again. What could it be?

Hello Jim,

the interruptions in the scheduled operations are usually caused by Acronis Scheduler Service not operating properly or inability to access the data either on protected machine or in the storage location. I'd make sure Acronis Scheduler and Acronis Managed Machine services are up and running after server reboot. Next check if the target location is accessible and recognized in the backup plan (if there was a drive letter assigned, it should stay the same).
