Setting Up Acronis for Exchange 2013
Hi Everyone,
Just spent an hour and 10 minutes on the phone with Acronis tech support, no use, they were not able to solve my issue. I am successfully backing up my Exchange 2013 DAG using CDP, but unable to restore a test mailbox. Before I even get into that issue, I want to make sure that I have the software set up correctly. Here is an overview of the setup.
1) Exchange 2013:
2 Client Access (Call them EX2013-CAS1 and EX2013-CAS2)
2 Mailbox (Call them EX2013-MB1 and EX2013-MB2) -- I have the Acronis Backup 11.5 Agent For Exchange installed on both, latest version.
2) Acronis:
1 Server, call it ACRONIS-SRV1. It has the latest version (11.5.39029) installed.
3) Accounts:
I have created 3 active directory service accounts:
svc-Acronis-Management (Local admin rights on ACRONIS-SRV1)
svc-Acronis-Storage (Local admin rights on ACRONIS-SRV1)
svc-Acronis-Agent (Local admin rights on EX2013-MB1 and EX2013-MB2, also member of Exchange Organization Administrators)
* None of these accounts are domain administrators.
4) Acronis Setup:
I have done the following to set up Acronis:
1) Confirmed the Exchange VSS Writer is on.
2) Created a centralized vault with deduplication turned on.
3) Created a backup plan with the following details:
a) What to back up: Microsoft Exchange Information Store
b) Access Credentials: svc-Acronis-Agent (Is this correct??)
c) Where to back up: Centralized Vault
d) Access Credentials: svc-Acronis-Storage (Is this correct??)
e) How to back up: Continuous Data Protection
f) Plan Credentials: svc-Acronis-Agent (Is this correct??)
So far my backups are working. However, I am unable to complete a mailbox restore successfully. Before I get into the errors and how I am doing it, can you guys just verify that what I have set up so far looks good and if you have any tips or changes let me know.
Thanks,
Nick.

Thanks Fedor,
The metadata collection level is set to "Include list of mailboxes only".
When I create a recovery task, I do the following:
1) What to recover: Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes -> Choose Mailbox
2) Where to recover: Select my cluster (Exchange 2013 DAG) from the options. At this point it always asks for credentials to browse the Exchange server, and the only credentials that work are the svc-Acronis-Agent credentials, even though my own account is domain admin / exchange admin.
3) Task credentials default to "svc-Acronis-Agent" as well.
When I run this task, it gets stuck at 3%, then after about 3-5 minutes, fails. The most recent errors are as follows. Note the last error in particular, it says "Message: Cannot find server 'EX2013-MB2.MYDOMAIN.COM' in the list of Client Access servers." ... note specifically that that is a mailbox server, but it seems to think it should be a client access server. I have not added any of my client access servers to Acronis.

Unfortunately, I can't help here. There were several cases with such error in the past but all were resolved by updating to then-latest build. Other one, with Exchange 2010, was resolved by setting correct RpcClientAccessServer property(?) using powershell, (it was empty which caused error) as described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982678/en-us . Please continue working with the support on your case.
