Delete a virtual host

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis Backup 12 virtual host. I want to delete a VMWare host, how do I do this? There are currently 2 hosts listed in Acronis Backup 12, but I only have a license for one.

Hi,

The list of hosts is retrieved from Agent(s) for VMware which is/are registered on Acronis Management Server. The list of the agents can be checked from Settings->Agents. You can unregister one of the agents which is connected to not required ESXi host, however if the agent is connected to vCenter which manages 2 ESXi hosts, then it's not possible to remove one of the hosts, since the list of the VMs and other vSphere objects is retrieved entirely from vCenter, so there is no way to exclude only some of the hosts while making the rest still visible.

If you want to manage backups from single ESXi host then the Agent for VMware should be connected directly to it, e.g. you should provide the ESXi host IP+credentials when deploying the Agent for VMware (either Windows or appliance) instead of vCenter credentials.

Thank you.
