Acronis one backup at a time policy

Thread needs solution

I was surprised to learn that the Acronis backup agent is limited to run one at a time, regardless of system ressources. This makes it impossible to have timely backups, especially combining very big backups with small frequent backups, as they risk locking each other up and the whole point of the backup goes out the window if it cannot be performed in a timely manner as scheduled. I am really puzzled by the this policy. Is there something I missed somewhere?

Hi Frank,

Indeed a single agent installed on Windows or Linux machine can back up local data from this machine in a single task only, e.g. you can't back up files/folders and entire volume ("Entire machine" backup) at the same time. For VM-level backups (agent-less) the number of simultaneously processed VMs by particular Agent for VMware/Hyper-V is defined through Backup options->Scheduling settings.

Can you please clarify the scenario you're trying to implement and in particular what is meant under "combining very big backups with small frequent backups"? What type of backups you'd like to combine on a single agent (files/folders/disk/partitions/applications/VMs/etc.)?

Thank you.
