AMS service problems

Every time we reboot our server where the Management Machine is installed on, the AMS service won't start, which result in failing backups. We had this problem with version 12 too. Our machine where the AMS service is running on is a Windows 2008 R2. Running a repair installation temporary fixes the issue, but it keeps coming back.

On a side note: ever since we switched from Acronis Backup for VMWare 11.7 to 12, we had nothing but problems. Some of them seem to be fixed in version 12.5. Updating to 12.5 was a total disaster which resulted in reinstalling everything from scratch and with no option to backup your tasks in version 12, it was a joy adding all my 42 backup tasks again.

I hope this product becomes more stable in the future. So far I'm not impressed.

Hello,

I am sorry to hear that the update from the previous version did not work correctly for you. Did you reach out to our support people to get this analyzed before reinstalling from scratch? I ask because I would like the logs from the previous installation analyzed.

As for the main problem -- could you provide some more details on this issue?

When you say that the AMS service won't start, do you mean just after reboot and you can start it manually later, or does it not start at all, even if you run it manually? Or does it start and then stop right after ? Do you see an error when this happens?

Also, the backups on our agents are normally able to run independently of the AMS service. How do they start failing in your case?

I forgot to add the reason why the AMS service won't start: it keeps saying the service failed to start due logon failure. It appears it has nothing to do with a reboot now. I had it again yesterday and the machine was online for 10+ days.

I contacted Acronis for support about this issue, they're working on it.

I also contacted Acronis for the update failure, but after almost 2 days without a backup we decided to reïnstall everything.
