Backup Catalog INCONSISTENT

Thread needs solution

Hello;

I am running 12.5 Adavnced and have run into a possible issue.  I went to restore a file from from my Storage Vault and could not find many of the folders located on that drive via the Catalog.  Many of the folders/files on the Root of the drive were listed.

This is a physical file server with the licensed acronis agent running.  It is set to backup the whole volumes of all servers.  It consistently shows backups as successful.  I have also restored the whole file server to a vm, all 3.5TB in the last month.  There were no missing files/folders then.

It appears I can select to restore the whole Volume, but it is only 0 bytes.

Any help with this issue will be appreciated.

Hello,

You can start indexing manually using "acrocmd catalog vault" command. But it will not fix the root cause. To understand how to fix it permanently, please create support ticket.

acrocmd catalog vault results in:

An error occurred while executing the command.

    $module = "acrocmd_vsa64_7641"
    `anonymous-namespace'::PrintPerformingResult : k:\7641\enterprise\comman

According to the activities . . .it Catalogs data and often takes well more than an hour.  On the other hand, Indexing the data often takes between 1-5 seconds.

In 11.5/11.7, indexing would turn on then off again.  Leaving me unprotected as it would bring the data to the storage vault, but never index it.  Leaving it unavailable for restores.

Support was never able to fix the issue.  It sort of looks like this is happening again.

Hi

Try this command:

acrocmd catalog vault --loc=<path to your location> --credentials=<credentials to the location>

Example:

acrocmd catalog vault --loc=\\bkpsrv\backups --credentials=net_user,netpassword

By the way, even if there are no data in the catalog it is still possible to recover data from the backup. Just drill down into desired backup and select the file to recover.
