Backup fails on windows server 2008 R2 - failed to create snapshot - system writer

Hello,

I'm trying to back up my server using Acronis. I see couple of strange things:

  • I see ALL devices and SQL server, however I just want to backup whole system. Why? see screenshot. (all apparaten = all devices)
  • Second problem: backup is failing. The error message is : failed to create snapshot. See screenshot.

 

I tried already 100 ways to solve this issue but i cannot find a solution.. :(

I attach also logfile where you can read all errors.

"All devices" tab shows all devices that have Acronis components installed. 
"Microsoft SQL" tab shows servers where Acronis Agent for SQL component is installed for backing up your SQL databases.
To make a backup of the entire server, please select it in the "All Devices" tab and click "Backup" on top of the right pane. If you need a  backup of your SQL database in a consistent state which could be recovered separately, without recovering the entire machine, please do not forget to enable Application-Aware backup https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisBackup_12.5/…

  • Second problem: backup is failing. The error message is : failed to create snapshot. See screenshot.

To troubleshoot this issue, which looks like a VSS issue, please download and run Acronis VSS Doctor available at https://www.acronis.com/en-us/personal/vss-diagnostic-free-tool/

A VSS writer is application-specific software that acts to ensure that application data is ready for shadow copy creation. Windows OS includes a set of VSS writers and VSS-aware applications install own VSS writers to the machine.

If the above does not help, please collect Acronis system information from that server: reproduce the issue, go to "Settings -> Agents" tab, select the server and click "Collect system information" at the right-down corner.
