Cannot open .tib in Bootable Media Restore

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to restore an image to a VM using the Acronis Bootable Media ISO downloaded from the Acronis website. I have used this method before to restore an image to VM and it has worked.

When booting the VM into the "Recover Data" window, I can see the backup image archive but cannot access it. The OK button remains greyed out and no amount of changing options appears to make any difference.

Both image files, previous and current, are stored on the same NAS device.

I'm getting a 0x00A100D4 error: "Cannot find archive 'volBackup.tib'" but searching in Google, there are no entries for this error code with the same symptoms as I have.

Why would I not be able to do this now when it has worked before, and can anyone offer any insight please?

Hello Richard,

Thank you for your post. As I understand, restore is not possible, as the OK button is greyed out. I will be happy to help you.

May I know at which step are you getting the error message?

First, we need to eliminate any connection-related issues. Could you move the archive and its XML-file to a local storage any try recovering from there?

Secondly, make sure that validation under bootable media is successful. Navigate to actions – validation and choose the affected backup.

Lastly, could you check if you can open the backup in Windows explorer with a double click?

Please let me know if the issue is resolved. If It is still there, could you gather the following information:

1. What have you specified as backup source and backup destination?

2. Please copy the full text of the error message (or make a screenshot)

4. Gather a system report under bootable media when you reproduce the issue:

Help – gather system report

I will send you the link to FTP-server in private messages. Go to "My account" at the top of a forum page and then to "Dialogs".

Please let me know when the logs are downloaded. Thank you!
