machine to browse from is not selected after update to 12.5.13400 vmware appliances

Thread needs solution

Before we update our vmware appliances (all-in-one and agent only) to 12.5.13400, we have:

- two acronis backup agent appliance (linux) with local disk for storage

- two Linux VM with local acronis agent installed mounting NFS within the VM for backup storage

After updated to 12.5.13400, when I click to open the Backup locations of above, I got "Machine to browse from is not selected". there is no "Change" option to allow me to set the machine. Also, unable to see my backup files. However, the backup plan assigned to these locations are still working.

Hi,

There should be "Select" link on the right to "Machine to browse is not selected" message while browsing NFS share after the update. As far as I've confirmed it works properly in b. 13400 using all-in-one appliance (at least in my lab), so if you're missing this option (shown on screen shot below), then it could be an issue with particular browser cache - can be checked by opening browser in private mode; or if it doesn't help, then the issue should be checked with our support team.

Thank you.

In my case, the select option is not available. Please note that it's only happen on local disk of agent (linux). network share (NFS) has no problem.

Hi,

Thank you for the details - looks like the issue is specific to particular location registration and/or changes in agents registration sequence, for example if the agent was re-installed during update while the location record was left on the management server. I couldn't reproduce this behavior unfortunately, but the solution should be as simple as 1) remove the location from the list (from Backups tab) 2) re-add it back by browsing the location from proper agent ("Machine to browse from" when going through "Add location" wizard) OR instead of re-adding you can wait until the next backup to this location is performed - it should re-create the location record automatically.

Thank you.
