Schedul2.exe crashes during bootup, no backups possible! (build 12.5.8690)

Thread needs solution

System: Win 10 pro 64-bit, running AB 12.5 with both Management Server and Agent on same device.

 

Error/Issue: Updated to build 8690 from build 7970 on Dec 17, 2017. Update successfully completed without error message.

Now, every time I start the computer, schedul2.exe crashes with this message:

The schedul2 service apparently repairs itself after a certain time but then crashes again after a few hours or when waking up from energy saving mode. No backups possible because monitor says "internal error" in lower right corner.

 

Update. The same scenario is true for a client without AMS, repair function does not help, uninstallation and re-installation does not work either. Antivirus whitelisting on/off makes no difference.

 

I cannot use the product! Urgent help would be appreciated,

I have the same issue but my acronis version is 12.5 build 8850 on windows 10 1709 build 125

Hello TuffTurf, I send this issue to Acronis support on Dec 17 but since then no improvement.

In the meantime, 8850 was released and I installed that in exchange for 8690. Issue stays the same.

Microsoft lauched new updates for windows 10 1709 and my build version change from 125 to 192

After start my computer today and check the event viewer the log erros from acronis was gone despite i didnt start any backup operation yet to verify everthing is working ok

thanks for the info, sounds good. This update has not yet been offerred to my system so I will have to wait a little longer for getting this resolved.

for me, the update to build 10 1709.192 has not improved the situation.

Did you do anything beside installing from Windows update?

I just install the updates and reboot the os

You'll have to rely on acronis support to help your issue
