storage locations - are there changes in 3.1?

Thread needs solution

Hey there,
I did a clean reinstall of Acronis Backup Advanced and installed HF3.1 (Build 10330).

As before
- the Management Server is installed on one of my servers (Windows 2012R2)
- the storage location is on a NAS
- the login that I use on the AMS is the administrator.
- the admin has also full access on the network shares on the NAS.

I added (as in Build 901) the storage locations in the following way:

- I add a stroage location and select network share
- enter the desired folder on the NAS manually
- enter the credentials in the Form DOMAIN\USER

Remark:
- The share is \\NAS\share
- The storage location I add is \\NAS\share\subfolder1\subfolder2

Now the questions:
a) Credentials necessary for adding
Why must I enter the credentials to connect to the network folder?
I assume that this is necessary because they are needed later if I select this storage location in a backup plan right?

b) Credentials to show backups
After a logoff and logon to the AMS I must enter the credentials again if I go to the backup tab and try to show the content of the different storage locations.
Why ?
The currently logged on user of the AMS has the necessary rights.
The machine to browse from is the machine of the AMS.

c) renaming of a storage location
If I rename a storage location to a shorter and more speaking name this renaming does not survive a logoff/logon procedure.....
Why ?

Son Lee, thank you for your posting!

The credentials are being stored on AMS; So credentials should be prompted only once, when you open the location for the first time on AMS. Also I have tested renaming of backup location - after a logoff and login the name is preserved. So I would suggest you updating to the latest build. It is highly likely, that the issue will not reproduce.

If you have any other questions, just let me know.
