ABR Wks is not deleting old backups

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis Backup and Restore installed on a Win7 64-bit box. It is configured to email me after each backup is completed. It is configured to do a full backup one night per week and differential backups other nights. It emails me with each successful backup but when the disk fills up it does NOT clean up as expected. I have tried both capacity threshhold and number of weeks of backups. Neither is working as expected. In either case, when the backup device fills up the cleanup does NOT take place so the backup does not take place so no email is sent. Very frustrating.

I have had ABR installed on this machine for ~3 months now.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello Jim!

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here! I understand your frustration, and will do my best to help you.

We had this issue in the old build of Acronis Backup and Recovery, so first of all I would suggest you to check whether you're using the latest build of the software. It should be 12457, and it's available for download right in your account. Please note that in order to access the update you need to have the product license registered.

Should you have an older build, please update to the latest one and see whether the issue's solved (Feel free to check the instructions both for Standalone and Advanced versions).

Should it remain, please test whether it's working with the new archive naming style (see User's Guide, Name backup files using the archive name, as in Acronis True Image Echo, rather than auto-generated names (p. 197) or this KB article).

In case the issue still remains, please gather Acronis Info from the problem machine, and submit a support request with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
