I entirely understand how upsetting this experience can be, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused. This issue looks to be related to the Scheduler glitch, which can be solved by its update. Please follow the instructions mentioned in this thread.

The support wanted to close this item without any concrete action to improve the situation since 04.08.2011 nobody is working on the case. Attached the actual situation where the number of zombie tasks increasing. Some are now running since > 1month. I do not believe they are really running but shown as such.

Hi,

meanwhile the case is tracked under id 01265741 & 01267340. It looks like that there were two issues:
1. Inkremental backup without data to be backedup (no changes)do not show any progress while backup they just jump from 0 to 100% (which can take hours)
2. Zombie tasks are not automatically deleted (I got a cleanup script for this).

both issues are within quality assurance or development
