Acronis and VMware Annotations

Thread needs solution

I am new to ABR11 and it's Virtual Edition. I currently have an escalated case with Acronis Support, but my event logs are stuffed! I am currently experiencing AMS changing virtual machine custom values. This value that is changing is that of th custom field "Backup status" and "Last backup" constently. And I mean CONSTENTLY.

Here is an example:

Set virtual machine custom value
MACHINE
Completed
DOMAIN\User
VCENTER.Domain.com
11/15/2011 3:21:16 PM
11/15/2011 3:21:16 PM
11/15/2011 3:21:16 PM

Set virtual machine custom value
MACHINE
Completed
DOMAIN\User
VCENTER.Domain.com
11/15/2011 3:21:16 PM
11/15/2011 3:21:16 PM
11/15/2011 3:21:16 PM

Set virtual machine custom value
Machine
Completed
DOMAIN\User
VCENTER.Domain.com
11/15/2011 3:21:17 PM
11/15/2011 3:21:17 PM
11/15/2011 3:21:17 PM

Set virtual machine custom value
MACHINE
Completed
DOMAIN\User
VCENTER.Domain.com
11/15/2011 3:21:17 PM
11/15/2011 3:21:17 PM
11/15/2011 3:21:17 PM

I have changed the sensitive info, but those are the last 4 entries out of 1 machine's task log in VMware. That log is FULL of these events and it is still happening. This isn't happening to all machines, just the ones that failed on a backup.

It makes no sense to me and I am not sure what to make of it. However, I would like to get this taken care of ASAP and am turning to my peers for assistance! Thanks for your help.

Hello Eric,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum. I would like to follow-up about your case with us.

We are currently investigating this issue, we have asked for assistance from our Development team and we are currently working on this issue.

I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience and if you need additional help with your case feel free to contact me directly.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I have figured out how to stop the updates for now. It seems as thought vCenter integration was the solution to stop them. I just disabled the vCenter integration feature on AMS and no more updating of annotations. Until this issue gets worked out I will run this way, connected to my two hosts individually.

If any further information is required or you would like help recreating this issue, please let me know and I would be glad to help as I would like this issue researched and soved. Thank you.
