Ambiguous error on Full Backup

Thread needs solution

Trying to run a full backup on a server (Domain Controller). I have a 1.5 TB external USB drive connected directly to it. I setup a backup task to start at 10:05 pm. The task started and I got a user intervention error at the very beginning - 0% has been backed up. The error simply says:
The specified files does not exist. The system cannot find the file specified.
As you can see, it's very ambiguous. What file? What is it looking for? There are not details that tell me what file Acronis wants.
Remember, this is a full backup, not an incremental or differential so it should not be looking for a backup file. I can access the externa USB drive just fine. I can see a .tib file that is only 452 MB's. This backup should be around 100 GB's. There are 4 file total in the folder where I'm storing the backup - (2) .lck files, (1) .xml file, and the .tib.
Is there some way to find out what file Acronis is looking for?

Hello Matthew,

Thank you for reporting about the issue, I will be glad to assist you with it.

Unfortunately it's hard to say for sure what caused the issue due to the lack of sufficient investigation information, but before we proceed with obtaining the needed data, I would like to offer you a workaround:

You can remove the task with all it's traces and re-create it, this should solve the problem, just follow these steps:

  1. Download Scheduler Manager and task zap all the tasks according to instructions here
  2. Update the Scheduler according to this article

After that recreate the task and check whether the issue remains. If it's present please gather Acronis Info, submit a case with the information attached, and let us know its number.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

Thanks Yana,

I did not download or do any of the things in your post yet. I would like you to review the above error and tell me if I should still do it.
You can Email me directly if you like at:
Also, I did not see that you posted a reply to my request. I finally canceled the backup and then got the error informaiton. I went to edit my post and discovered your reply - weird.

Yana,
I downloaded the scheduler app and ran it on my server. The scheduled back I planned for last night (Wednesday) went off without a hitch. So that seemed to do the trick. I have setup some additional backup plans that will take place over the weekend, so I will see if all is well.

Thank you for your help.
