Archive corrupt or does not contain backup

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I have one of three backups giving me a problem upon attempted restoration: Archive corrupt or does not contain backup. The three backups all have tib files that are readable; however, the tib files for the archive I am having problems with has a lock icon in Windows, where the other two archives o not have the lock icon.

I have been trying to restore this image from the archive or even using tib files, but just keep receiving the error mentioned above. Also, as a note, the archive states it contains 0 bytes, although the tib files contain about a TB of data.

Any idea what I can do to remedy this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Wosully,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here. I understand your concern, and would like to help you.

Usually it happens when the backup creation is started, and the archive is not created yet, but used by some other process. Anyway, it's impossible to find the exact cause without additional investigation. Please gather screenshots of the issue, Acronis Info, then submit a case with the information attached, and let us know its number.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

OK, thanks for the quick response. So you believe that this is basically an incomplete backup then? This is not an ongoing problem, in that this machine is no longer backed-up. I was just attempting to restore this old image onto different hardware.

So it sounds like the backup was executed and just never had the chance to complete most likely?
