Are we able to "apply" an image to a raid0 array that was created from a single hdd image?
Hi all. I'm new to this forum and am having a hard time seeing many of these posts so I apologize if this might be a common question, but a link to a solution would be just fine.
My question: If I currently have a single HDD and wish to swap the single hard drive in for a raid0 setup will disk director/true image allow me to create an image from the single hdd and apply that image to the raid0 set up? I have and use the software on occasion but have not worked with raid, in fact I have no experience with any raid array and hope to learn a little something about it with this experience. Thanks to anyone who can chime in with a recommendation!

Hi Chris. I have done this many, many times with Echo Server with Universal Restore. The catch phrase is with Universal Restore. You can make an image of the single drive then boot the recovery CD for Echo Server. It has to have the Universal Restore feature. When you restore the image to the Raid 0 drive make sure you use the Universal Restore option and supply the drivers (I use a flash drive) for the Raid controller.
As a note the Acronis Recovery CD has to recognize the Raid 0 Drive (Controller). I have done this successfully but I use pretty industry standard Raid Controllers (Promise or Adaptec). Should work with just about anything as long as you are in the realm of an industry standard Raid Controller.

Jim, I can't thank you enough! I hope there are and will be others to benefit from this bit of knowledge. I'll be attempting this restore sooner than later and will post my trial/results. Thanks again, very much.
