Automated Daily Recovery

Thread needs solution

I would like to set up an automated recovery of a file on a daily basis to test the success of the backups.

What I am aiming for is the following;

In order to test the success of the daily backups, I aim to create a test file located on the root of C:

At noon of each day I want to create an automated process that looks at the latest backup created, whether it be a full, diff or incr... and recovers the test file to a specific location.

From this I will be assured that all the backups are working normally and are not corrupted.

Any one have any suggestions on how to achieve this as the current restore facility within Acronis only works on a "when created" basis running manually

I have a work-around on this issue that I am currently using

1. Running a validation on my vault every day at noon
2. Once a week manually recovering the file from random backups on each server

However, since we have 16 servers this process takes time to manually alter each restore and run, when ideally I want to automate this tasks to save on man hours.

Dear Sam!

Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding this question on Forum! I understand your scenario and will be glad to shed the light to the situation.

I regret to inform you, though, that recovery process cannot be automated in Acronis Backup and Recovery products. This software was designed for the data protection. In case you need to restore one system or file backup to several servers simultaneously upon schedule, you will need Acronis Snap Deploy 3 for Servers. Please keep in mind that it doesn't perform scheduled backups, it's imaging process can be ran manually only.

You can test the version before making a decision. All the functionality is described in the User's Guide and Installation Guide, feel free to check them! Please note that according to the Acronis License Policy you will need one license for one computer your are going to restore (deploy), imaging process is free.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
