Backup Hangs at 100%

Thread needs solution

Hi we have been using Backup & Recovery 10 on a windows server 2000 machine for just over 12 months.

Daily backups and test restores have all been ok.

Then for the last couple of weeks the backup just hangs at 100% progress.

The backup does seem to have finsihed and we can restore files but the backup task still says running 100%

Thank you for finding time to join us and report about the issue on Forum, I appreciate it, and will be glad to assist you.

I have carefully checked our internal resources: we had such an issue with the very old builds of Acronis Backup and Recovery, so I would advise you to check it's build first of all.

The latest build is 1270. If you're running older build, please update your software as instructed here

If it doesn't help, please update the Scheduler as mentioned in this KB article. In case even this solution doesn't work, please gather Acronis Info, submit a case with the information attached, and let us know it's number.

I had that symptom with recent version of V10. KB did not resolve the issue. I opened a support ticket but we couldnt figure out the problem. In the end only a complete new installation helped.

I was too quick on this one the problem is still there.

I did the Knowledge Base step by step and then I have done a full re-installation

Seems like backups i run in the day work fine but the one i schedule at 3:00am always sticks at 100%

Could you tell me about your anti-virus software because we have conflicts with Kaspersky and Bitdefender.

Karl, if you have another anti-virus then I would recommend to contact our Support team with this report so that we may properly investigate and resolve this issue.

I have this same problem.

I started my backup yesterday at 15:42. The backup lasted 8hours 57minutes. The task is still running, almost 24hours later.
I am currently downloading the lastest version of Acronis. I have AVG 2011 Business edition installed on our Windows 2003 server.

I'm also using AVG 2011 Business edition.

I have now changed the scan time and backup schedule so they don't clash

Just run a Full clean uninstall and install and schedule update ... back has just run in the day but we will see after tonight

Could you try one more workaround please and if it fails, please contact our Support team with this report so that we may investigate and resolve this issue.

Try adding Acronis Managed Machine Service executable (mms.exe) to a list of trusted applications in AVG2011 (if applicable) and exclude this folder from being scanned (if applicable)

   * Windows XP/2000/2003: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\
   * Windows 7/Vista/2008: \ProgramData\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\

UPDATE

I have now rescheduled the AVG scan to be at least 8 hours away from the back up and added 'mms.exe' and '\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\' into avg as trusted paths and files.

And I am pleased to say say the backup does not hang at 100% anymore.
