BartPE and Backup & Recovery 10 Updated yet?
I had read on the Acronis site that the 'next' update of B&R 10 would have an update for the BartPe plugin. I downloaded the latest version from my account (version dated the 20th) but can't see any changes or plugins for Bartpe.
Was there an update that I am not able to download?

P.S. I have a WinPE version, but I like to use BartPE because it is so easy to add extra drivers.

Hi,
I also use the B&R 10 11105 pluging for BartPE PEBuilder 313. After Booting and starting B&R 10 I still get the messgage CANNOT CONNECT to the Localhost. I followed exactly the steps from KB...
Whats missing or wrong

Hi Toni,
same here. But after calling "net start mms" in a dos window and 2 or three starts/stops of ABR, the program starts without further complains.
But the next trap isn't far: I cannot choose the source of the planned backup (hd or files). That page doesn't show any drive. The 'target' section shows all existing local drives, same as 'Disk Management' under 'Navigation'.
No chance to do a backup.

I had forgot about this thread....
I tried setting up a BartPE disk but I kept getting BSOD's.
I thought it was something I was doing but discovered that the BSOD occurred whether I was using the BartPE cd, WinPE cd, or just booting up my computer (the new update has an issue with card readers).
I'll probably try again after they have the card reader issue fixed.

I've run across the BSOD issue with a card reader also. Hope they fix it soon. I PM'd my card reader info to them also.
I'm also getting a new error with all WinPE based recovery discs (BartPE, WinPE and WinPE 2.0). At the Backup Plan screen, when I click OK it says it can't create the backup plan (See attached screen captures). My configuration on my laptop is 2 internal SATA drives. I am imaging the main system drive to my 2nd HDD. When I use a network drive I don't get the error message, only with the two internal drive. Which is weird because it sees both of them. I chatted with support several days ago but haven't heard back from them yet.
I think they hope I forget about it!

Hi Joe,
if I start mms with NET START MMS I get msg the name of the service is invalid. I tried to start this service from the Acronis MMS Directory.

Toni,
the system should know where to search for 'mms'. Is 'acronis._inf' renamed to 'acronis.inf'?

Hi Joe,
thanks for a response. The acronis.Inf resides in the Plugin directory after building the bootable stick i didn't found an acronis.inf file in the acronis directory of the bootable stick !

That is normal. The inf is used in the building process to essentially install the app in the recovery disc enviroment. Once built, the inf is of no use to the built recovery disc.
One more thing, in the WinPE plugin directory there is an "export_license.bat" file. Running this file copies your license keys into the bottom of the inf file. Have you run this batch file?

Hi,
I have installed the latest build 11133 and I am still not able to build a barpe with acronis ABR10
After Booting and starting B&R 10 I still get the messgage CANNOT CONNECT to the Localhost. I followed exactly the steps from KB... Net START MMS resulted in invalid service. Is there someone who has bulded successfully a bartpe with ABR10 (WINXP). With True Image Workstation no problems at all.

Have you tried to ping the localhost on this computer? If not, please try it and let us know the results.
Also, could you please try to use the BartPE disk on another computer? Do you receive the same error message?

I am Mike Bordignon colleagues.
Yes, we have tried Oleg's suggestion but no luck on all computers we tested.
I have attached the screenshot you requested with this post that also shows the result of ping command to Localhost.
1. Boot pc with WinPEAcronis CD
2. Once Winpe finished initialising the network it Starts-up Acronis and straight way get an error message “Cannot connect to Localhost”

I just added the Acronis backup and restore 10 plugin to my BartPE cd following instructions in the KB8219 article. The program loads without errors and it can see all my drives when browsing vaults or starting a new file based backup. When I try to start a disk/volume based backup no disks are visible for selection? Has anyone else had this issue and found a fix for it?
