B&R 10 SnapAPI Install Failure

Thread needs solution

Hello Acronits,

I'm attempting to install the Acronis B&R 10 Agent, however it fails thru the GUI and msi package.  Thru the GUI installation, it completes the installation for all the components except for the Installation Agent, when the agent is installing I receive a Microsoft signature driver request, I select the option to accept Acronis drivers and then the installation rolls back the installation.  When attempting to install the extracted Agent msi file the install flashes then stops with no errors.  Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.  I opened a ticket a couple of days ago with no response yet from Tech support.

If it makes you feel any better, I am running into the same exact problem.

I suspect it has something to do with the fact that we might have installed the newer SnapAPI drivers before installing the B&R Agent?

I am in the process now of uninstalling the new SnapAPI drivers and manually uninstalling all of the old Acronis B&R software, then reinstalling it. Wish me luck.

Unfortunately, it did not see to work. The MSILogs say the TIMountInstaller driver fails (that's the driver that keeps popping up, and oddly enough it is the old True Image mount driver).

What doesn't make sense to me is why would 1 out of my 3 servers have this issue?

Hello rjbsec,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please install Acronis True Image to some computer temporarily, navigate to \WINDOWS\system32\drivers, find timntr.sys file, copy it to another folder, rename the copy to timntr_2k.sys and point your Windows Repair Installation wizard to this file.

Thank you.

Ok, so since 2 of my 3 servers were working, I found the timntr.sys file, copied it and renamed it to timntr_a64.sys (I guess amd 64 bit style vs itanium...).

When the installer prompted me for the file, I told it the directory with the new renamed file and it complete the installation!

PLEASE, do not proceed to reboot the system until you install the SnapAPi hotfix.

Hello all,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

To find the exact reason of the issue we need the installation log file.

We have released a new build of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.0 (build #11133).  Please download and install the latest build. You can learn more on how to download the latest build here.

I would recommend you to install the components separately, i.e. in the following order:

- Acronis Management Console;

- Acronis License server (if it is required);

- Acronis Agent;

- Other components.

If Acronis Agent still fails to be installed, please obtain the installation log file and attach to your next post.

Thank you.
