Can not import license for previous version

Good Morning,

We've just installed B&R License Server and I've successfully added the license keys for this version. However, when I try and add the keys for Acronis True Image Echo Power Edition Server so we can do the upgrade, I get the following error: Failed to add the license keys.

Please can you confirm how I add these keys to the license server?

Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows software doesn't contain License Server, as this product doesn't include remote control features. Thus its licenses aren't designed to be added to the License Server, and you receive this error.

In order to proceed with the upgrade, you need to change the license keys. In order to do it, please contact the Sales Department Representative. I will provide you with the Sales Rep contacts via Private message in a minute.

Good Afternoon,

I did purchase an upgrade license. When I upgraded from True Image Echo Server for Windows it didn't use the upgrade license, instead it used a license key for the full product, which was intended for a different server.

I thought that we would need to add the True Image Echo Server for Windows license to the Backup & Recovery 10 license server so it knows that its using an upgrade license.

If that's not the case, when doing the upgrade, which was specified, why did it not use the upgrade license which was available?

Please accept my apologies if my reply confused you. Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows and Acronis Backup and Recovery Advanced are different products from different product lines.

With the help of Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows licenses you can upgrade to Acronis Backup and Recovery Server for Windows only. In case you need to install Acronis Backup and Recovery Advanced Server, and you have the upgrade licenses, you will need to add the Acronis True Image Echo Enterprise Server licenses to the license server.

Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows is a standalone version, and it's licenses cannot be added to the License Server, and cannot be used to get upgraded to the Advanced version.

In order to obtain the needed serial keys you need to contact our Sales department, they will be able to solve the inconvenience.
