Can't Create Backup Plan for Virtual Machines

Thread needs solution

I have 3 vmware 4.1 ESXi servers with an Acronis agent installed. The agents were installed as part of the vcenter integration. I use static IP's so I had to manually assign IP's to the agents. I also had to manually assign the Acronis virtual edition license to each. I am able to create and run local backup plans on each ESXi host, but I can't assign a backup plan to any of my virtual machines in the management console. I can go through the process of creating the plan, but after it is saved, it does not show up in the details for the vm's. My management server is running win 2008 R2. My acronis build is 17437.

Hello Chris,

My name is Bagaudin, and I would love to help you with your issue.

First of all, please clarify for me one thing.

You are mentioning that the backup plan does not show up in the details of the VM, but it still unclear whether or not the backup plan is shown on "Backup plans and tasks" tab.

Please provide my with the screenshots of:

1. The backup plan setting, that you are attempting to create.

2. The screenshot taken from "backup plans and tasks" tab right after the centralized backup is created.

3. AcronisInfo output, gathered as per this article.

Also, please consider, that while you have active support maintenance, you can raise a ticket with Acronis Support Team. we will be more than happy to help with any problem you may face with Acronis products.

Hi Bagaudin,

Thanks for looking into my issue. I was able to solve my problem by manually binding my VM's to the appropriate agents. For others that my have a similar issue, this can be done by right clicking on virtual machines in the tree and selecting the Configure Agent for ESX(i) bindings button.
