Can't Restore Clone onto smaller drive maybe?

Hey laddies and gents -

I recently have been having a scuffle with a MAC. I tried to clone the harddrive with acronis, assuming it's the issue, the clone went good, but when restoring i cannot restore the main system drive. I'm assuming its because its from a 750 drive going to a 500, i thought acronis would drink the partition, but if that's not the issue, if someone could help me please do.

Restore or cloning with resize is possible only for supported file systems. HFS commonly used on Macs is not supported, so its size can't be changed. Moreover, Mac computers are not supported by Backup & Recovery at all ( http://kb.acronis.com/content/1746 ) and probably was not tested with hybrid GPT-MBR disks too.

ah i see, i used a program called Macdrive so i could see the HFS disc, guess its back to the drawing board!
