Centralized Backup with Acronis 10, XP Home clients

Thread needs solution

I have a network where there are 2 XP Home clients. No matter what I do I cannot add to the AMS. The username/passwords are correct, and the XP Pro machines work fine. It must be an issue with Home. It will not take any password I give them. Please advise

'Advanced' version was not declared as compatible with XP Home (see http://kb.acronis.com/content/2757 )

Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Workstation
Windows 2000 Professional SP4/XP Home Editions/XP Professional SP2+
(!) Remote connection to the agent installed on Windows Home editions is not possible.

In the userguide for Advanced Workstation (Update 3) XP Home is not metioned at all -
Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Agent for Windows
...
Windows XP Professional SP2+ (x86, x64)
...
(but home editions are mentioned for Vista and W7 as incompatible)

It most likely has something to do with 'simple file sharing' always turned on on XP Home.

You may try to install console along with the agent, connect locally and add the agent to AMS using 'managed machine options', then try to deploy a policy on it to test.
