Change Communication ports

Thread needs solution

I am running Acronis Backup and Recovery 10. I am having problems using the remote management console to do installs and to manage all of the workstations. It seems to be a port issue to me as far as I can tell. I used telnet to check the ports and I can communicate to the server from the workstation fine on all ports. When I telnet from the server to the workstation I cannot get a connection. I tried various ports (80, 443, 445, 25001, 9876, etc). My workstation is Windows XP SP3. I have tried enabling and disabling simple file sharing without any results. I have disabled the firewall on both the server and the workstation. I checked the AV and do not see any port blocking enabled. This environment does not use DHCP - all names are resolved via the HOSTS file. I did all of my testing using the IP address instead of the name. I have local admin rights on the PC and on the server. I can do a local install of the client on the PC and do a backup and recovery without issue, but the central management piece is not working - even after the local install.

Assuming that the port being blocked is the issue, what do I do? How can I see what is blocking it? I created an explicet "allow" rule in the local firewalls on the server and worstation for various ports to no avail.

I understand it as even when you install the agent locally on XP machine, you can't connect to it remotely using console from other computer? Or you can connect but can't add to Management Server?
