Changing SATA HDD by SAS

Thread needs solution

Hello,

On a Server 2003 SBS box, I am planning to change the 2 SATA hard drives by 2 SAS hard drives adding a raid controller.
This server has Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 with Universal Restore installed.
My plan is to do a full backup with Acronis, then to do the hardware changes and finally restore the backup with Acronis bootable media.
For doing this, I need to include the raid controller drivers in the bootable media.

Am I fine with this plan? Am I forgetting something?
Or is there a more efficient way to do that?

Thanks in advance.

Hello L_Mex,

Thank you for your question in our forum.

Your plan sounds good. In your situation I suggest to create the Linux based bootable media, as well the Windows based bootable media. At the WinPE media, you are able to add your raid drivers, if the standard Linux media does not recognize the new raid hardware.
