Checking centralized managed vault forever on localhost/management server

Thread needs solution

Greetings.

I am running acronis advanced backup and recovery 10 (10.0.11105) on windows server 2008 R2 enterprise 64 bit. I have a acronis management server with large local storage mounted as Q: on this server (no AD). And i use this local drive as the only storage-node. and this storage node as the only centralized managed vault.

I have backups working towards this node from 4 different server.

But when i try to do a disk backup of the OS disk C: on the management/storagenode/vault server itself, i am unable to see the contents of the vault.

- how to reproduce. -
connect to mangement server
find physical machines
locate the management server
create new backup plan
enter "where to backup" and browse to the centralized vault.
notice that size/free space and archive name list contains "loading..." you never get the list of archives. i have left it searching over night with no result or error.

if you enter a name in the bottom name field and click ok , you get a popup progress bar that keeps on scrolling with the text "checking vault..."

If i do the same on a different machine (only remote agent) via management console. the vault archives show immidiatly. and i can easily create the backup plan.
I can see the contents of the vault in dashboard, and the vault and storage-node from the mangement server. only when creating a backup is this a problem.

I have tried...
disabeled the firewall.
recreated the storage-node
recreated the centralized vault.
removed and readded the machines from AMD, tried with both hostname and fqdn
I have also tried removing ipv6 from the network interface
adding the hostname to the hosts file.
and searched the web/this forum.

Please. How can i take a backup of the OS disk of the management server itself. ?

kind regards

I have discovered that this problem seems to be related to ipv6.

we have a bog standard ipv4 network. no ipv6.

but if i ping localhost or hostname and i get ::1 or the local link fe80:: ipv6 address. then the problem above is present.
but if i ping localhost or hostname and i get 127.0.0.1 and hostname gives 127.0.0.1 or interface's ipv4 address. then there is no problem.

i acomplish this by editing the hosts file.

Thank's to RonnyA I my B&R work's again.

I am using IPv4 and IPv6 in my network.

I culd not add Storage Node to Management server (both on the same machine) with server's name. When I used IPv4 address there was no problem.

However I succesfuly (after many attempts) added second Storage Node to Management server using it's name. In Management console on Storage Nodes list next to name is writen it's IPv6 addres (Global Unicast).

Use server's name's very carefuly in IPv6 enabled network.
