Error while recovering

Thread needs solution

I just bought Acronis True Image Home 2010 and I am having all kind of issues with this software. I backup a folder and it worked fine. The issue is when trying to recover the folder (backup.tib). I get the following error when I selected the file for recovery:

"Error while opening this archive. The archive format is not supported by this operation".

Appreciate any help. The tech support from Acronis suck like everyone are aware.

are you using the same version of True Image which made the TIB file?

Don, Emanuele is correct: usually this error appears in case you have created the backup by means of previous/not compatible version of Acronis software. You can check the backup compatibility table.

But I assume that it is not the root of the issue. In order to identify the cause of the problem we need to take a closer look at the issue, so I would appreciate if you could kindly specify the following: 

  1. The exact sequence of actions that lead to the problem you report, so that we can reproduce it?
  2. The type of the backup (full backup of disks and partitions, data, e-mail, etc?) (chapter 13 in the User's Guide)
  3. Please run the validation process and tell us whether it is successful. Should it error out we would appreciate the error message
  4. Mount/explore the image to see whether these operation are accepted by the backup (chapter 17 in the User's Guide)
  5. Location of the backup
  6. Acronis info from the machine in question
  7. Screenshot of the issue

Please contact us with the information gathered - it will help us to identify the exact reason of the issue and provide you with appropriate solution.

Also - I have search our resources and unfortunately couldn't find any support data session opened/submitted by you. Could you please kindly specify me any support session data (logs, case number, etc) via PM so that I could check the issues you have encountered and notify the Management.
