Fail to backup when using ftp

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I've installed Acronis Backup and recovery 10, on my Windows 7

I've created a first complete backup of the whole physical disk (2 partitions), getting a tib file of about 30 GB, moved it on my own server (FTP server) then tried to make an incremental backup of that...

I:

create a new backup plan, then set up the same partitions, I set the name of the backup in the archive section (FTP on my server, I've tried with filezilla and credentials are OK)

But I get this error:[transalation in brackets]

I've set up in "advanced" the correct username and password for the FTP site.

Anyone any idea?

Thank you

For more information please have a look,

I create a new backup plan.
I flag advanced.
method: Backup NOW and "incremental"
backup position-->access username and pwd of my FTP SITE inserted

then I click on backup position archive-->
I type in the full path: ftp://192.168.4.yy/ftp_nameclient
I type in the full name of the file: mybackup.tib
then click on the green arrow on the right...

and it asks me again and again for credentials...

Then I tried in this way:
I type in the full path: ftp://192.168.4.yy
I type in the full name of the file: mybackup.tib
then click on the green arrow on the right...

and it answers that in that view "there are not elements to show"

then I tried:
I type in the full path: ftp://192.168.42.yy
I DON'T TYPE ANYTHING for file
then click on the green arrow on the right...

and it answers that in that view "there are not elements to show"

It seems like it doesn't see the tib file...

Then I tried:
then I click on backup position archive-->
I type in the full path: ftp://192.168.42.yy/ftp_nameclient
I type in the full name of the file: mybackup.tib
then click ok (not the green arrow)

It seems to work, but when I click Ok for the plan, it answers with the errors I've reported above.

the user I've inserted has the COMPLETE CONTROL on the folder, and on the files in the FTP server.

FTP SITE is configured in this way so, when user connects he can do everything

Thank you.

Does the folder have write permissions?

Thanks for your response

Yes, Peter my folder have write permissions, I can add, delete anything by using FileZilla .

Hello Swadesh and Peter!

Swadesh, thank you for finding time to join us and report about the issue! I understand your concern and will do my best to assist you.

Peter, thank you for your valuable assistance!

Swadesh, it looks like it cannot access the FTP properly. In case it's on your server, could you please try browsing it in the navigation panel or specifying the path to it like:

\\[ip-address]\(wait till it requests for the credentials, enter them)[folder_name]

This may help.

Should the issue persist, please gather Acronis Info from the problem machine and submit a support request with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
